The really unique thing about Pu erh Teas is that the older the tea the more exquisite. The smoother the taste.
The quality of the tea, grade wise there are 10 grades. The higher the grade and the older the most expensive. The lower the grade and the younger the tea the lower the price. For the novice, we recommend to choose age over grade. Age in all cases produces a smoother - less dirty (or dirt) taste.
What's true for all Pu erh teas is the health benefit. All pu erh teas have an affinity to break through stagnation and aid digestion.

A French Study by Dr. Amill Carroby, found; “Yunnan Pu'er Tea has a good effect to reduce content of lipoid and cholesterol”.
In 55 clinical trials at Kunming Medical College, China, Pu'er Tuo tea was used to "cure" cholesterol.
In a comparison study between pu erh tea )drinking 5 cups per day) to prescription clofibrate 31 cases found pu erh to be just as effective with no side affects. which has a good effect to incline fat. The Catechin of pu erh is higher than other tea species. The macromolecular polysaccharide transforms into new dissoluble monosaccharide and oligosaccharide. There is almost twice the vitamin C content in pu erh compared to other species helping the immune system, strengthen the body and prolong longevity.
Low grade pu erh is often served in Southern China restaurants as a digestive aid especially after a large feast centered around greasy but fantastic meals.
For Kombucha Brewing use only 1/3 - 1/2 ounce per gallon. This will produce over 30 Gallons of Kombucha Tea. For the greatest flavor, Wash/Rinse your pu erh first. Washing your tea is simply pouring boiling water quickly over the amount of pu erh you intend to use. Then place your pu erh in a cup and add boiling water, or for stronger flavor add to an amount of boiling water to make your pu erh tea. The longer the boil the stronger and more flavorful the tea.
Wash your pu erh before making a cup of tea to drink, Drink a sa single cup. Adding more hot water to make 2-3 more servings or place your pu erh in your drinking cup and sip throughout the day. Adding more hot water throughout the day as needed.
